With that in mind, here are the tracks released this week in throwback deathcore, heavy duets, cinematic house-metal and more that have been on heavy rotation at Revolver HQ. For your listening pleasure, we ve also compiled the songs in an ever-evolving Spotify playlist. ASAVA Valhalla ASAVA confess that they were partly inspired by the ravenous blood-rave scene in Blade while putting together “Valhalla” — the cinematic metal outfit’s latest preview of their in-the-works Mahjong LP. Indeed, they sink their teeth into a decadent late-night house rhythm for the bulk of the dread-stirring piece. But then the group bring us to the promised land with a late-song eruption of TOOL-ish vocal melodies, djent-mangled detonations and scathing death cries. Like Blade before it, it’s a summer blockbuster no matter how you slice it. Bring Me the Horizon Dehumanized “Time to fucking die.” Bring Me the Horizon go for broke with a monstrous, inhuman ferocity on this old-school deathcore driller inspired by the U.K. act’s early Count Your Blessings era. Landing like a bolt gun to the dome, it’s full of meaty metallic riffage, bloodthirsty breakdowns and lifeforce-pureeing intensity. We expect “Dehumanized” will turn any pit into an all-out abattoir. While Oli Sykes has progressively explored the more melodic side of his voice through decades of experimentalism with BMTH, it’s still a thrill to hear him slay with a nonstop barrage of growls. Dead Poet Society Roach What doesn’t kill you can only make you angrier. L.A. quartet Dead Poet Society explained that their second single of 2026 is “about those who have wronged you, taken advantage of you [or] hurt you,” and letting a resentment fester deep inside you because of their actions. The song is tense and knotted with an oddly danceable dread. Like a resilient cockroach, it skitters out of the light into the darkest recesses of your psyche. And once it invades, it’s never going to leave. I Prevail Amira Elfeky PARADISE Though I Prevail and Amira Elfeky may be looking to take you to “PARADISE,” their collaborative track makes a bunch of twists and turns before you make it to the final destination. A groove-boomed front section back-and-forths between I Prevail vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe’s mightiest roars and Elfeky’s nu-crooned subtlety (the first chorus contrasts the former’s vein-popping “FUCK” with the latter’s super-shushed “you”). The dynamic arrangement also unlocks micro-blasts, moody piano segues and a particularly scorching arpeggio solo. Odds are good they’ll perform this together on an upcoming European tour, and odds are even better that it’ll kill onstage when they do. Loathe Fangs “Fangs” grooves a little smoother than the other hard-edged previews from the U.K. outfit’s incredibly anticipated next album, A Stranger to You. No massive, djent-disruptive breakdowns. No full-fury screams out of frontman Kadeem France. And yet, the track still bangs. The stunner is full of fuzz-forward, R B-adjacent riff runs and impressively yearning vocal performances from both France and guitarist Erik Bickerstaffe. “Fangs” may be a subtler baring of teeth, but it’s still got plenty of bite. Chelsea Wolfe Death Is Not the End We ask that you let Chelsea Wolfe’s latest single wash over you in slow-motion. “Death Is Not the End” moves from a lithe and whispered acoustic intro towards a phosphorescent burble of synths, and then crashes out the speakers with a gloomgaze finale of cascading guitars — courtesy of guest player and Nine Inch Nails live guitarist Robin Finck. Wolfe’s echo-blown philosophizing waxes on transitional states and alternate planes of existence. As she moves towards an impending ninth full-length release, it’s clear that this “Death” is just the beginning of Wolfe’s next era.

Are you ready for “PARADISE”? Ahead of I Prevail’s European tour with Amira Elfeky, the rock-geared metalcore vets have teamed up with the rising nu-metal artist to deliver a new collaborative cut called “PARADISE.” The song explodes out the gate with nu-bounded grooves, and focuses on a back-and-forth vocal approach of big screams from I Prevail’s Eric Vanlerberghe and moody coos from Elfeky. That said, the latter also brings big-bellowed moments to the piece. A press release notes that the duet plays out as a “passionate battle of words between partners,” and features its fair share of doomed-romance lyricism (“Suffocating in your arms is my favorite way to die”). The arrangement rollercoasters through machine-gunned guitar battery, synth-phonic swells of ambiance, piano ballad pitstops, classically horns-raising arpeggios and more. We ve been fans of Amira for a while, the members of I Prevail said in a joint statement. She has such a distinct sound and style. The opportunity to write together came up super organically and we instantly connected on this crazy concept for a song. “We all saw the vision for it almost right away. That s a rare and beautiful thing when it happens. We still don t think we know exactly what we made. We never had to stop to think about it. We just made it.” I Prevail’s European leg of their ‘Violent Nature’ tour begins September 19th. Elfeky opens all dates, and the acts will also be joined by UK hardcore outfit Polaris. Texan metal quartet GORE. have approached the altar with their first song of 2026, a false idol-criticizing anthem they call “Lead Me to the Slaughter.” Won’t you join them? The track had been teased by GORE. throughout the past week. The band had cryptically posted an Instagram carousel of themselves holding candles and flowers under the caption “Take me by the hand, take me under” ahead of fully confirming last night’s (June 24th) “Lead Me to the Slaughter” video premiere. The song is full of religious imagery courtesy of vocal powerhouse Haley Roughton, who coos through devotional set-ups (“Make me your perfect vessel / Baptize me”) and deceptive punchlines (“You save my soul with a smile / But you’re bearing your teeth”). The band offer up jaggedly melodic modern metalcore riffage and anthemic hooks by the metric ton. “This song is about being indoctrinated into a cult, and idolizing what kills you,” the band explain in joint statement. “Idolatry is rampant beyond human repair with social media — we now look at people like they re gods. We idolize money, fame, and beauty more now than we ever have as a society. These idols will lead us to nothing but guilt, shame, and suffering.” They bring it all together in a new, self-directed video that finds Roughton either staring at herself in a hand mirror, growling out masterful screams or spewing up gore. Her bandmates hoist a bouquet of flowers in a visual nod to the cover of their 2024 debut EP, A Bud That Never Blooms. “Lead Me to the Slaughter” follows GORE.’s IF YOU DO NOT FEAR ME EP from last fall. The new song was introduced into their live set earlier this year. GORE. are currently out on the road with Canadian metal lifers Kittie, and have an upcoming European tour with I Prevail, Polaris and Amira Elfeky kicking off in September. For your listening pleasure, we ve also compiled the songs in an ever-evolving Spotify playlist. Anthrax It s For the Kids Anthrax are back in the madhouse. Won’t you join them? It has been a long time coming, but the New York thrash icons are finally pulling the trigger on their first LP in over a decade, and they’ve fired off a serious heater with Cursum Perficio’s introductory “It’s For the Kids.” Scott Ian leans into insanity-spiraling whammy bends before the group lock in with an intensely aggressive, singularly anthemic arrangement. The band and their fans bash the hell out of each other in the asylum-set music video. Pure, glorious metal madness. Beartooth Pure Ecstasy As it was foretold, a demon has been awakened within Beartooth vocalist Caleb Shomo, and he’s waging war with the world on the band’s new, heavy-edged “Pure Ecstasy.” Shomo has been undergoing personal and artistic metamorphoses, going by the lyrics to this and Beartooth’s recent “Free” single. With this latest cut — the title track to their next LP — he lets it be known that the pressure cooker has hit its boiling point and he s sick of holding himself back. Accordingly, he fully pummels the cut with a bunch of grizzly growls. Full of big-time chugs and earworm heaviness, this one was co-written by Periphery guitarist Misha Mansoor — who we’ll get back to in a second. Casey Edwards Amira Elfeky Bazooka “My bazooka/Make the devils cry.” Composer Casey Edwards tapped rising alt-metal artist Amira Elfeky to sing on this track for the second season of Netflix anime Devil May Cry. While Elfeky generally brings a cool and confident croon to lines about packing “smoking sexy” artillery, the song — titled after the Kalina Ann rocket launcher hoisted by Devil May Cry’s Lady — also finds her bringing hellacious screams to the table. Edwards pairs all that with guitar-heavy, nu-bombastic explosiveness. Periphery Subhuman (Feat. Will Ramos) As you may expect, Periphery crack into subsonic djent grooves by the metric ton across their newly released LP, A Pale White Dot. While guitarists Misha Mansoor, Jake Bowen and Mark Holcomb deliver a series of freaked-out screeches and ungodly low-tuned tones on the album, a symphony of screams take center stage on “Subhuman” — both thematically, and vis-à-vis the brutal duet going on between vocalist Spencer Sotelo and Lorna Shore’s Will Ramos. The verses get nasty (“Eat, shit and breathe, but the oxygen is here for me”), but the backend breakdown is where the pair harness the “purest hate.” Primus The Ol Grizz The Ol’ Diamondback Sturgeon. Tommy the Cat. Wynona’s big brown beaver. And now the Ol’ Grizz. Primus’ animal kingdom continues to grow with a new treasure-seekin’ song about a prospector coming face-to-face with a giant bear. There’s gold in them thar arrangements, with bassist Les Claypool pulling off a dizzying array of string dynamics throughout the tap-crazed verses, a slap-happy groove and a mid-song low-end solo. Not to be outdone, Larry “Ler” LaLonde offers a stupendously bizarre fret-crawl of his own. Split Chain scatterbrain UK nu-gazers Split Chain will soon be expanding last year’s Revolver-approved motionblur to include alternate takes with guest vocals from members of Roman Candle, False Reality and more. That deluxe edition will also sport the gauzy anthem that is their newly-debuted “scatterbrain.” The track centers in on some of the Bristol quintet’s greatest strengths: bittersweet, effects-soaked guitar hooks, driving post-hardcore propulsion, and the power-ached vocal vulnerability of frontman Bert Martinez-Cowles. The singer said the song is about people pulling away from each other, and the resulting feelings of abandonment. Nothing to worry about here: By the sounds of it, we’re not going to ghost this one anytime soon.
