Sepultura have confirmed that their farewell tour — and, indeed, the band itself — draws to a close this November with the iconic metal band’s newly-announced final show, which will be in São Paolo, Brazil. As announced earlier today (May 27th), the last-ever Sepultura performance is set to take place November 7th at the Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu in São Paulo. “After more than 40 years marking the history of world heavy metal, Sepultura bids farewell to the stage for good,” reads a translated statement on the band’s Instagram page. The show features direct support from Metal Allegiance — the supergroup featuring Dream Theater’s Mike Portnoy, Testament’s Chuck Billy and Alex Skolnik, Mastodon’s Troy Sanders and more — and will likewise feature opening sets from Brazilian death-metal troupe Krisiun and classic thrashers Sacred Reich. The night will reportedly also feature guest appearances from Sepultura alumni including Aughts period drummer Jean Dolabella and Bestial Devastation / Morbid Visions-era guitarist Jairo Guedz. While longtime lead guitarist Andreas Kisser has publicly invited founding members Max and Iggor Cavalera to join the farewell celebration, the brothers have apparently turned down the opportunity. A pre-sale begins tomorrow (May 28th) at noon local time, while general ticket sales for Sepultura’s final concert are up and running by Saturday (May 30th). In the meantime, Sepultura still have a couple dates left on their final run of shows in the U.S., performing tomorrow night at Berkley, California’s UC Theatre with Exodus, Biohazard and Tribal Gaze, and then wrapping the tour leg on Friday (May 29th) at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, California.
