Expect the first Faith No More live shows in 10 years to be announced imminently
Following Faith No More s gigantically jaw-dropping tour teaser yesterday (June 16th), the alt-metal band’s bassist, Billy Gould, has gone on record confirming that they’ll be back on the road in the near future. “Yeah, we’re gonna do it. We’re gonna play,” he confessed in a new interview with Rock Talk’s Jadranka Jankovic Nesic, adding that part of the reason behind mounting another reunion tour was that they wanted to do it while they were still able to pull it off, physically. “You know, our music is very physical, and a big concern is, like, pretty soon we’re not gonna be able to do this the way we wrote it,” Gould, nearing his mid-60s, explained. “We wrote it as 20-year-olds and it and it’s always been very physical. It has to be that way. I can’t play the song if I’m not like that, honestly. With my bass parts, I just can’t do it. But I think… I mean, we all kind of decided, like, we think we can do it. I think that we can do it for a few more years, and we can do it the right way, so we’re gonna give it a go.” As previously reported, the band made a social post yesterday of an image including a concert audience, the FNM logo, and the date “2027.” That same day, it was confirmed that the group had signed a deal with South American concert promoters 30e. It’s unclear at the moment when they’ll actually get back on stage. The impending shows will be the first Faith No More performances since 2016. A reunion tour had been scheduled for 2021 and 2022, but vocalist Mike Patton pulled out of the trip, citing mental health reasons. You can peep the full interview with Gould up above.
