Fear Factory are confronting the battle between man and machine on Roboticist, their first new single for five years and first with vocalist Milo…
Fear Factory is back in business. Three years after the industrial-metal titans enlisted vocalist Milo Silvestro as their full-time vocalist, he’s now made his studio debut with the band via the launching of their new “Roboticist” single. The song marks the first new music from the group since 2021’s Aggression Continuum album, and it was teased earlier this month via video stills that cast Silvestro as a techno-organic figure akin to Tetsuo, the Iron Man. Now that the song’s live, we know he’s got vocal chops, too. The song was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Damien Rainaud, while the music video was directed by Vincente Cordero During a recent interview with Poland’s Strefa Music Art (via Blabbermouth), guitarist Dino Cazares called the single the dawn of “a whole new era” of Fear Factory, as the group had just been playing old songs live since Silvestro and drummer Pete Webber joined the lineup in 2023. A press release notes that the new song details “a dystopian reality where flesh fails and only consciousness endures.” Cazares adds in a statement: “The future isn’t coming. It’s already here, ‘Roboticist’ is the next evolution of Fear Factory. Man, Machine and the war for what comes next. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the beginning of a new era of Fear Factory.” You can check out Fear Factory’s weaponized aggression via the flesh-and-circuits fusing performance video up above. “Roboticist” is streaming now via Nuclear Blast Records. Details on an upcoming LP have yet to appear, though Fear Factory have a chance to perform “Roboticist” live across a series of concert appearances throughout the rest of 2026.
