BUTTHOLE SURFERS are anything but a household name. Beartooth are tired of the bullshit. Need proof? The pop-tinged metalcore outfit are purging exhaustive drama by letting out a cathartic roar on their latest Pure Ecstasy preview — tellingly dubbed “Bullshit.” The new tune follows album previews “Free” and “Pure Ecstasy” as a metallically-judding, 808-beating and anthemically rocking paean to pushing out toxic, paralytic thoughts (“I never can trust what’s in my head”) and diving into a bolder, more independent tomorrow. “ Bullshit’ is a familiar song I’ve written many times,” vocalist Caleb Shomo commented. “I wanted to revisit the musical style that was the catalyst of so much healing and discovery in my earlier years of Beartooth. It’s an exercise in letting the truth out about what you’re sick of in your own life.” He continues: “Sometimes the easiest way to deal with something is to yell about it as loud as you can. Can confirm, it felt as amazing to do this exercise now as I’d did when I was 19.” As previously reported, Beartooth’s Pure Ecstasy is due out August 28th via Fearless Records. A pre-order for a Revolver-exclusive vinyl pressing on Half Blue/Half Purple with Black Splatter”-colored wax (limited to 500 copies) is available in our shop. Beartooth’s “Pure Ecstasy Tour” begins November 11th at Boston, Massachusetts’ MGM Music Hall at Fenway. You’ll find the full routing for the 23-show trip — which includes opening sets from Don Broco, Magnolia Park and Windwaker — over here.
