Loathe’s Summer 2026 cover arrives with stunning photography by Steve Gullick, and can be bundled together with both a limited-edition pressing of A Stranger to You on white vinyl and a band-branded enamel pin set. Motionless in White have spent the last two decades conjuring their own kind of magic. With MIW starring on the cover of Revolver’s Summer 2026 Issue, vocalist Chris Motionless takes part in our “Greatest Interview” series to reveal his band’s biggest triumphs, gnarliest losses and standout moments that have kept the magic alive. His answers help illustrate the Pennsylvania-made metalcore outfit’s rise in the heavy-music scene, leading up to this summer’s Decades album. There are two versions of this Summer’s Motionless in White cover: a standard edition featuring the full band, and a deluxe issue sporting an alternate solo shot of Chris Motionless that comes packaged in a hand-numbered, soft-touch slipcase with textured printing. The latter comes bundled with an exclusive Decades-themed slipmat, both featuring gloriously grotesque photography by Jonathan Weiner. The indie label Ferret Music is known for propelling some of the most successful 2000s metalcore artists into the spotlight. And they're back.

The founders of Ferret Music — the hardcore label that delivered early releases from Killswitch Engage, Converge, Every Time I Die, Zao and more — are relaunching the imprint in 2026 and have announced both a run of upcoming represses and the signing of two new acts: BORE and Wounded Touch. The news arrives from founder Carl Severson — also of New Jersey metalcore outfit Nora — who confirmed Ferret’s upcoming plans. He’d founded the imprint in the Nineties, and filled their catalogue releases from Converge, ETID, In Flames, The Devil Wears Prada, Poison the Well, Madball, Shadows Fall and many more. Warner Music Group assumed control of the catalogue in 2010, which led Severson and then Ferret co-owner Paul Conroy to form Good Fight Entertainment Per a press release, the new era of Ferret brings Severson to his hardcore roots “at a time when heavy music is once again thriving at a grassroots level that is driven by community, discovery, and a renewed appetite for authenticity.” “I started Ferret as a way to be more a part of hardcore,” he explains in a statement. “My friends all had talent and were in a band (Endeavor) and I wanted to do more than carry things to contribute to what they were doing. It was a passion that turned into a life and into a career. “For the vast majority of its initial existence I worked with my friends, worked with bands we loved listening to and it was just honestly an adventure. We grew and eventually saw behind the curtain and ventured beyond it. Things changed. My friends didn’t, and we still love listening… So here we are.” The new signees include the Long Island, New York-based BORE, who have been together since 2018 and most recently delivered the Feral album in 2025. Ferret was a label we always looked up to,” guitarist Danny Kopij adds in a statement, noting that records like ETID’s Hot Damn! are coded in his group’s collective DNA. “So, to get to be a part of the Ferret family, let alone to get to be here for the revival is nothing short of the honor of a lifetime. Looking forward to this next chapter of our band and to get to do it Ferret Style. “Most of our childhoods were shaped by the Ferret catalogue, so we’d have been championing this return out of sheer excitement regardless,” Wounded Touch vocalist Nick Holland adds, further describing Ferret as the “holy grail label of our youth. “But to instead get to be directly involved as boots on the ground for the return of Ferret and count ourselves among the pantheon of genre defining records released under that name is a validation that can’t be bought, traded or diminished.” Though ETAs on new music from BORE and Wounded Touch are TBD, Ferret Music have announced a slate of upcoming vinyl represses. This includes a 20th anniversary pressing of metalcore act Remembering Never s 2006 album God Save Us. The release restores the full-length’s original artwork and adds an extra track. Motionless in White have poured out more “Sweat and Blood” in the lead-up to their next album, Decades. Following the recent “Playing God” collab with Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, the metalcore mainstays have delivered a melodic, mournful team-up with singer-songwriter Skylar Grey called “R.I.P.” The new song is described in a press release as evoking “the power of a lover s lament inscribed on a headstone,” and begins with a dramatic piano intro and a vocal turn from guest singer Grey. Chris Motionless comes in soon after, contemplating loss above a powerful, but melancholic hard rock arrangement (“This can’t be the end!”). MIW’s leader said in a statement that the tune was written through “a romantic lens,” but its themes of loss “can be applied to any moment in your life when you ve had a falling out with someone you deeply care about, whether that s a best friend, family member, or romantic partner.” He continues: “The song really hones in on the deafening silence that follows after you ve said hurtful things to one another that you wish you could take back. It s meant to capture the tension that exists in that quiet space of separation. “You want to apologize and make things right, but you don t know how. You want to tell them you love them more than anything and can t live without them, but there s a lot of pain on both sides that has to be confronted first. All the while, you re left with the crippling uncertainty of whether the relationship can ever recover and move forward, or if it s destined to be laid to rest and gone forever.” He added of the duet, “Skylar s voice brought it to another level that I never could have achieved on my own.” Pay your respects by giving Motionless in White’s “R.I.P.” a stream up above. As previously reported, Motionless in White’s Decades sees release July 17th via Roadrunner Records. The record includes “Playing God” and early 2026 single “Afraid of the Dark”. A pre-order for Decades on Black, Ruby and Tax vinyl is currently available in Revolver s shop. The summer leg of Motionless in White’s “The Sweat and Blood Tour” begins July 14th at Bridgeport, Connecticut’s Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater, and features support from Lorna Shore, Fit for a King and Static Dress. The tour resumes October 30th at Worcester, Massachusetts’ DCU Center, but with Dayseeker, the Devil Wears Prada and Dark Divine as the openers. You’ll find the full tour breakdown here.

While 156/Silence are currently focused on crushing crowds as an opening act on Thornhill’s ongoing “Mercia Tour”, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania metalcore unit have announced they’ll be delivering a new album called From A Distance in the near future. Ahead of the official album release, they’ve dropped a big-grooved first single called “No Arms.” A press release explains that the new album follows 2024’s Revolver-loved People Watching, and it also marks their full-length debut for Pure Noise Records. The first single swirls through nu-inspired grooves and anthemic modern metalcore, with a side-dose of tense, retro-electronica arpeggiation. Lyrically, it hints at “wasted days,” emotional scars, and trying to find one’s purpose through the “war.” The band said this about the track in a joint statement: “‘No Arms’ is about being without a way to protect yourself and what belongs to you. Being alone and afraid, not having any means to control the situations that befall on us. The overwhelming feeling of being helpless until we’re not. Until somebody saves us.” Unless you’re saving yourself for the full LP, you can check out 156/Silence’s new song via the chase-imbued music video up above. The band’s From A Distance was produced by Josh Schroeder (King 810, Lorna Shore, The Plot In You), and is said to be “heavy as hell, while leaning into atmosphere, mood, and emotional impact even harder.” The record also features guest spots from the Devil Wears Prada’s Mike Hranica and Make Them Suffer’s Alex Reade. Conceptually, the band were apparently inspired by the game scores for Resident Evil and Silent Hill, as well as the eerie vibes of Twin Peaks and Severance (a sample from the latter is said to open the album). From A Distance is out September 4th via Pure Noise, though a pre-order for an exclusive variant on “Copper Black Ice Shimmer Blend” vinyl (limited to only 250 copies, and bundled with a signed insert) is up now in Revolver’s shop.
