Trivium have released the first single from their forthcoming new album. Titled "Dead Inside Of Me", the new track arrives with an accompanying music video, which you can watch below.

The grooving grinder is about "the tension between your true inner feelings and the mask you present to the outside world to hide them."

Trivium are back with their first song of 2026, a groovy beater called “Dead Inside of Me” that teases a forthcoming eleventh full-length from the veteran group. The new song arrives with an anthemically stomped-down pace and super chewy bend riffs. Ahead of a royally buzz-bombed solo from guitarist Corey Beaulieu, guitarist-vocalist Matthew K. Heafy unleashes a mix of melodic metal yells and inwardly confrontational lyrics about “peeling back the mask of [one’s] sanity.” “‘Dead Inside of Me’ was a song that came together at the end of a long day of writing new music last summer. It started with a riff I’d had kicking around for five or six years called ‘Slam,’ looping over a simple groove,” bassist Paolo Gregoletto explains in a statement of the single’s origins. “A lot of the most fun song ideas come from blending two contrasting ideas together. Take a death metal riff and play it like a stadium rock song. Let the screaming and singing weave together until they feel like one voice. Being able to explain the idea that simply as the song was coming together helped keep us laser-focused and on track to see the vision through to the end.”It’s added that the song is loosely inspired by “the Japanese concept of ‘honne’ and ‘tatemae’ — the tension between your true inner feelings and the mask you present to the outside world to hide them.” The theme is explored further in the subterranean-set music video. Beyond the performance footage of Trivium performing the song in a set of ruinous underground tunnels, we see a dramatically traps-laden cat-and-mouse scenario play out on-screen. You’ll see what we mean via the player above. The new song is apparently a taste of what’s in store for fans on the next Trivium album, their first since 2021’s In the Court of the Dragon. That said, the group tided fans over last year with their Struck Dead EP. Details on the upcoming album release are forthcoming. Trivium launch a North American headline tour November 5th in St. Petersburg, Florida. The trek features support from In Flames, Orbit Culture and Frozen Soul.
