Just ahead of A Perfect Circle’s European tour launch, the magnetic alt-metal veterans have delivered their shimmering first single of 2026, “Starless.” The new song follows APC’s “Kindred” off 2024’s Sessanta E.P.P.P. It was written earlier this year before being recorded by the band at guitarist Billy Howerdel’s Lankershim Ranch Studio in Studio City, California. He co-mixed it with Matty Green (U2, Florence + the Machine, TV on the Radio), and longtime collaborator Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, Foo Fighters) returned to the fold to play drums. “Some songs get kicked around and massaged for years,” Howerdel said in a statement. “But once in a while, one takes shape quickly, as if it had been there all along.” Vocalist Maynard James Keenan says he’s “chuffed to debut this new track on stage in the U.K.,” noting that while he’s stoked to issue the studio version, APC songs “always take on an expanded personality once we start playing them live.” Guided by an ominous lurch, and featuring Keenan s vocalizations around power hungry figures and finding a path forward with one s moral compass, you can stream Starless through the visualizer up above. Notably, “Starless” will also be issued on a one-sided 7-inch vinyl single, which features an etching of the APC crescents on the B-side. Pre-orders for exclusive pressings on “Silver Black A-Side/B-Side” and “White with Sea Blue Black Splatter” wax (limited to 1,000 each) are up now in Revolver’s shop. Both variants are foil-numbered, and they ll come with a custom-branded A Perfect Circle 45-adapter. As for A Perfect Circle’s upcoming European tour, the band’s first in eight years, that begins June 3rd for the first of two sold-out nights at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.More date info on that run — as well as APC and Puscifer’s late 2026 trek through Mexico, South America and Japan — can be found here.
From Brann Dailor opening up about Brent HInds, to several onstage mishaps, to brand new music – it was a quite a week in the news.
Primus have been panning for gold ahead of their upcoming package tour with the Claypool Lennon Delirium and the Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, and it turns out they found themselves A Handful of Nuggs — enough for the alt-funk greats to collect as an EP of the same name. The “Claypool Gold” tour — starring three bands featuring Primus’ founding bass wiz, Les Claypool — begins next week, and Primus are promoting both the trip and the EP by debuting a screwy string-slapper called “The Ol’ Grizz.” The tune is told from the perspective of a prospector lookin’ to fill his coffers with gold, his journey through the wilderness including a face-off with a big ol’ bear. The track leans into a wobbly groove, sports a mid-song bass showcase, and then gets back to business about the time the prospector pulls out a “plastic 10” in the backend showdown. The impending A Handful of Nuggs EP is streaming now, and arrives on vinyl July 22nd. The five-song effort also includes Primus’ cover of Dio’s “Holy Diver” with singing clown Puddles Pity Party, and their “Little Lord Fentanyl” track with TOOL/Puscifer/A Perfect Circle frontman Maynard James Keenan. You’ll find the EP streaming in full up above. That s the cover art and tracklisting down below, while pre-orders for exclusive, thematically-tinted vinyl pressings on “Gold Splatter” and “Black and Gold Blend” (limited to 500 copies each) are up now in Revolver’s shop, along with other golden goodies from the Primus catalogue. The “Claypool Gold” tour begins May 20th at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nevada. You’ll find more date info on the rest of the trip here. It’s been a rich season for Claypool fans, in general. His The Great Parrot-Ox and the Golden Egg of Empathy album with the Claypool Lennon Delirium was released earlier this month. A Handful of Nuggs tracklisting:The Ol’ GrizzHoly Diver (ft.
