Black-metal royals Dimmu Borgir have slithered out of the shadows to give us another look at their upcoming Grand Serpent Rising. The Norwegian outfit’s latest illuminating slice of extremity is called “As Seen in the Unseen.” The seven-minute single sports an extended intro of calm-watered, yet ominously anticipatory guitar tones. Sure enough, Dimmu eventually break the dam with bleak-blasted fury and symphonic grandeur. Vocalist Shagroth shrieks of arcane texts and transformative experiences (“Revolution starts with thyself”). Learn more about Dimmu Borgir’s epic new song, which follows previous Serpent singles “Ulvgjeld Blodsodel” and “Ascent,” by giving its music video a peep up above. As previously reported, Grand Serpent Rising is out May 22nd via Nuclear Blast. An exclusive vinyl variant of the album on “Gold with Black Marbled” is available for pre-order Revolver’s shop, along with other vinyl and CD copies. Later this summer, Dimmu Borgir launch their first North American tour since 2018.
