Falling in Reverse created a new nu-metal moment.
Falling in Reverse vocalist Ronnie Radke has delivered perhaps one of the year’s most bat-shit bonkers singles of 2026 via “Joseph,” an explosively manic metalcore track that doubles as a political powder keg of lyrical ideas. Oh, and it’s got guest spots Slipknot singer Corey Taylor and System of a Down vocalist Serj Tankian. Where to even begin. “Joseph,” which a press release notes is Radke’s middle name, starts off as a darkly balladic piece where FIR’s frontman contemplates the eternal grind of the war machine, and the folks it decimates up along the way (“Are you ready to die?”). The piano-led, choir-assisted intro quickly bustles into a theatrically half-rapped contemplation of the afterlife, then thrusts into overdrive with screamingly metallic arpeggiation and a pulse-spiking beat. Radke gets wildly operatic a bit later on, while also making mock gun sounds (“Fuck the world with loaded gun”) and fierce screams. Then Taylor pops up to growl out a super-pissed guest verse that launches political critique (“We’re bombing schools just to build a prison”) and an Escape the Fate reference. Following a noise-djented breakdown, Tankian materializes over a gentle, jazz-chorded to reflect on genocide. Visually, it’s a hell of a trip. Without spoiling too much, it involves plane crashes, Radke shooting foes while ripping through the streets on a motorcycle, a rising bone mountain made out of a pile of angsty skeletons, and a few scenes of Radke, Tankian and Taylor singing the song together. It’s a lot to take in, but you can peep “Joseph” up above. The video was directed by Jensen Noen. The song is FIR’s first release of the year, and follows last year’s “All My Women” single with Hardy and the “God is a Weapon” track with Marilyn Manson
Yes, both frontmen appear in the video.
