My Chemical Romance pulled out a very special — and very heavy-metal — surprise for their fans Saturday night (September 12th) in San Antonio, Texas, welcoming out the one and only King Diamond onstage.“Finally! Some real royalty in the house,” My Chem’s Gerard Way told the crowd at Alamodome Stadium while introducing the Danish metal icon, who has called Texas home for many years. “Anyone can be a dictator, but not everyone can be a king.”The King joined My Chem for a performance of The Black Parade‘s song “Mama” — and then whipped out a sword and knighted the whole band.On top of that unexpected cameo, the show was also notable because it saw Way hinting at plans for a new My Chem album, which would be their first in over 15 years.“We’ve kind of really always wanted to make another record, so we hope that life allows us to do that,” he said to the crowd of some 50,000 fans. “‘Cause you guys, honestly, you guys kept us alive so long. You guys deserve another record. I don’t know when it’ll be. But it’ll be awesome.” My Chemical Romance’s next set is their headlining appearance at the Louder Than Life festival on Friday (September 18th), which will be followed by their appearance at Aftershock later in the fall.
