Though Saosin are gearing up for a 20th anniversary tour behind their self-titled debut album, the screamo and post-hardcore vets have also been building up a catalogue of new tunes for the first time in a decade. They’ve just released their second song of 2026: “Just Be Honest.” The track follows this spring’s winkingly-titled “Starting Over Again,” and finds Cove Reber delivering a loud, melodic and reflective set of lines on an emotional reckoning (“There’s nothing left for me to give you / We had it all but now it’s crumbled to the ground”). The tune floats spindly guitar melodies and chug-powered breakdowns, Reber waxing philosophical via brood-gazed cries and a few big growls. “We knew there was something special about ‘Just Be Honest’ from the moment of its inception. It had that rare feeling early on where you just know a song is going to matter on an album,” guitarist Beau Burchell expresses in a statement, adding that the finished piece resulted in something “bigger than we imagined” — potentially hinting at the band’s first album release since 2016’s Along the Shadow. “This is really just the beginning of a much bigger body of work for us, a whole new era. We weren’t planning to share anything this soon, but we got so excited about where the music was heading that we couldn’t sit on it any longer.” The song can be taken in via a new, performance-styled music video directed by bassist Chris Sorenson. It is also available on streamers via Sumerian Records. As previously reported, the group mount a North American headline tour celebrating 2006’s Saosin in October, though they’re due to appear at the Warped Tour in Mexico City, Mexico, this weekend.
