Marilyn Manson has given fans another fight song. Today (July 17th), the controversy-stirring shock-rocker released “Front Toward Enemy,” the second official preview of his forthcoming One Assassination Under God – Chapter 2. [Edit: As readers have pointed out, the song had previously been issued on the limited edition CD single for “Raise the Red Flag” in 2025 before arriving on streamers today) The song comes off the heels of “Exit Wound”, and near-immediately lunges into a punchy metal riff and Manson’s bruising rally cry (“Get up and fight”). The song slinks into weaponized verses about rulebreakers and fakers, while other parts of the song reflect how Manson will keep puttin’ up his dukes “til [his] bruisеs are black and [his] face is swollen.” The battle anthem also suggests that “what the world needs now is a savaging”. You can give the track a fighting chance by streaming it up above. As previously reported, One Assassination Under God – Chapter 2 is out August 14th via Nuclear Blast Records. Marilyn Manson began a European summer tour over the weekend, and used his performance at Spain’s Resurrection Festival to formally debut “Exit Wound” — the first single from his forthcoming One Assassination Under God – Chapter 2 — in his band’s live set. The Saturday night (July 4th) performance took place at Viveiro, Spaon’s Campo de fútbol Celeiro, and Manson’s headlining set on the main stage closed out the fourth night of Resurrection Festival. The night began with One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1’s “Nod If You Understand,” and likewise found Manson and Co. performing that album’s “As Sick as the Secrets Within.” The Chapter 2 era is upon us, though, so Manson and his group lunged into the song about midway through their set. Manson’s Resurrection setlist also included cuts off Antichrist Superstar, The Dope Show and more, and closed out with his cover of Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus” — something he hadn’t performed since 2017. You’ll find fan-shot performance footage of Manson hitting “Exit Wound” up above and down below. The setlist info is down there, too (per setlist.fm). Manson’s European tour resumes tonight (July 6th) at Icónica Santalucía Sevilla Fest in Seville, Spain. Later this fall, he performs a handful of 30th anniversary shows behind Antichrist Superstar in L.A.
