The HU recently launched their tour with Apocalyptica, and it seems like fans of the Mongolian folk-metal crew may find some new songs in the setlist this spring. The band just announced their next album is called HUN, and they’ve now unveiled a collaborative rocker with NOTHING MORE vocalist Jonny Hawkins. The musicians’ tag-teamed “Lost Soul” was debuted today (May 20th). It begins with dance-forward four-on-the-floors and Hawkins’ brawnily melodic hard rock croon, before the HU bring open-chugged metal guitar and throat-sung growls to the table. A press release explains that the single “trumpets a message of resiliency, fortitude, and strength that translates positively into any language and anywhere in the world.” We have been unpacking our surprises one by one. Hunnu Rock transcends through culture and in that respect,” vocalist and morin khuur player Galaa says in a statement. He adds: “To be not lost on your life journey, not losing your values, and go through life and having a courage to face the life obstacles are messages we are sending our fans through this song Lost Soul and in our next album, HUN.” Guest vocalist Hawkins adds of working with the HU: “I am so excited to team up with a band as committed to their craft as the HU. It s unlike anything I ve done before.” You’ll find their “Lost Soul” through the player up above. As for HUN, the impending album will be the band’s first since 2022’s Rumble of Thunder. It features recently delivered songs “The Real You,” “The Men” and “Warrior Chant,” but it’s added that their version of “Lost Soul” with Hawkins will only be available on the digital version of HUN. HUN is due out July 24 via Better Noise Music, though Revolver has a pre-order for an exclusive vinyl variant on “Blue with Red and White splatter” (limited to 500 copies) in our shop, where you’ll also find other versions of HUN and various HU-related merch items. The HU perform tonight at Maplewood, Minneapolis’ Myth Live, and their tour with Apocalyptica runs into June. You’ll find the routing for the rest of the trip here, while the HU will also be a part of Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson’s “Freaks on Parade” summer tour., and those details are here.
