In support of their upcoming Perfecth release, Queens Of The Stone Age have announced a headlining North American tour with support coming from Pixies and Wheelchair Sports Camp.
Josh Homme's band lay out plans to tour forthcoming record Perfecth
They played "Where The Goth Girls At?" on late night TV last night.
Just a week left before the release of Queens of the Stone Age’s Perfecth new album, the desert-rock mainstays have announced they’ll be supporting the album with a North American arena tour in 2027. The group have a number of overseas shows to get them through 2026, and have now confirmed that they’ll be launching a U.S. soil arena tour at San Diego, California’s Viejas Arena on May 1st. The 16-show run also features direct support from quiet-loud-quiet indie-rock lifers Pixies, plus opening sets from Wheelchair Sports Camp. Pre-sales begin Oct. 28th at 10 a.m. local, and you can sign up for the early access here. The general onsale begins the following day (October 29th) at 10 a.m. local. As previously reported, QOTSA’s Perfecth is out October 30th via Matador Records. The band have issued three pre-release singles: “Easy Street,” “Insignificant Other” and “Where the Goth Girls At?” Last night (October 21st), Queens played the latter on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. You’ll find the live performance up above. A vinyl pre-order for Perfecth is currently available in Revolver’s shop, along with other QOTSA merch items. The band are also hosting a series of HalloQueen in-store events at record shops worldwide on Halloween (October 31st). Shops will be selling a limited-edition picture-disc pressing of the album while supplies last. Costumes are encouraged. You can find your closest dealer here. 'Peacemaker' fans might notice a familiar face.
We already knew Queens of the Stone Age’s upcoming album was for the dogs, but the desert-rock favorites are also all down with goths. Need proof? Check the fish-netted, black nail-polished and sensually bile-spewing new vid for Perfecth’s tellingly-titled third single, “Where the Goth Girls At?” The track, which follows acoustic strummer “Easy Street” and last month’s breezy “Insignificant Other,” is a lean, sexy, staccato stomp where guitarist-vocalist Josh Homme flexes a falsetto to talk up the corset-sporting, clove cigarette-sucking goth gals at his local malls — whom he dubs “da black cat’s pajamas.” “Growing up… watching the goth girls working the counter at JCPenney and giving goth makeovers to the old ladies, that’s when I knew the only place I want to be is where the goth girls at,” Homme expressed in a statement of the song, adding, “Teenage love, ain’t it grand?” UPDATE: Homme also added in a talk with Consequence of Sound that the lyrics, specifically “Never felt so alive as the day I almost died,” in part reflect a near-death experience of his when he was kid. “I think everyone in this life is either experiencing a near-life or near-death experience, or you certainly will if you haven’t,” Homme said. “There’s a bit of euphoria post those [experiences]. I almost drowned when I was 12, and it was really wonderful in the days and weeks post that [incident]. Food tastes amazing and the sunset was f**kin’ juicy.” He continued: “I’m not saying you should go out and get yourself a near-death experience, but certainly those occur, and that euphoria, it takes a while to dissipate, and it’s hard not to feel the joy in those moments after that.” A music video for the song — directed by Christopher Gruse and Tony Wolski— finds a black-banged baddie infiltrating a factory workforce, sucking face with various employees to spread goth vibes — perhaps nefariously. It stars QOTSA, as well as comedian Steve Agee (Peacemaker), dancer/artist Scarlett Kapella and singer/actress Lou Lou Safran. It gets all kinds of gunky, and you can see what we mean by giving the workplace horror a peep up above. As previously reported, Queens of the Stone Age’s Pefecth, their ninth album, is out October 30th via Matador Records. A vinyl pre-order can currently be found in Revolver’s shop, along with other QOTSA merch items. Queens of the Stone Age have been on a North American tour with Foo Fighters since earlier this summer. Queens make a pit stop at Louisville, Kentucky’s Bourbon and Beyond tomorrow (September 24th), before linking up with the Foos in Vegas this Saturday (September 26th). More show info can be found here.
